Interactive Developer | Multimedia Developer

I work mostly on the 'Flash platform' though I don't think of myself as solely a Flash Developer. I have successfully developed a broad range of projects from banners to presentations to full-blown websites, touchscreen applications and video players.

I am happy to work in both AS2 and AS3. My last 3 decent sized projects have been developed using AS3/Flex Builder and the PureMVC coding framework.

I have decent PHP and CSS skills and can create and maintain MySQL databases, configure Apache sites and successfully use version control systems.

I am currently working with jQuery/CSS because standards based web-sites are increasingly important and offer a lot more 'interactivity' than in previous years.

In common with most multimedia developers I prepare assets for projects - video editing/re-sampling, sound editing, Photoshop/Fireworks, however I am not a designer and cannot work-up a brief into a finished design.

Usually I work within in a client focused, agency environment and am often the last point of call for technological queries from designers and troubled project managers.

When I manage to escape Planet Computer, I like to spend time with my daughters (eight and four), or relax with a good book - ideally historical and very, very heavy.

Recent Work | Tegal: Music To Go

This was a defunct and broken Flash project from 2009. I converted all code into a Flash Builder project to speed up the development process and subsequently updated the site with new content. I coded a streaming music player with the ability to post favourite tracks onto the users 'Facebook wall' after the appropriate login has been completed. As the only person working on the project I also acted as 'prime mover' to get the PHP and related MySQL databases running again as these were no longer live.

Recent Work | Countdown: Countdown Interactive Store Tour

Sixty percent of this project was done by the time I started work on it. That said, I spent 3 weeks getting it through the Ogilvy QA process - fixed bugs, reduced memory overheads, added scrolling menus and content and found and sorted out a 'show-stopping' sound glitch under IE6.
